The next

Originally, the 43rd Dolomitenlauf was intended to be the second stop on the global FIS Worldloppet Cup. But after the 39th Foulée Blanche in France was cancelled one week before the Dolomitenlauf, the marathon world elite kicks off the season in East Tirolean Lesachtal. “The onrush of international top racers in particular and national teams is thus considerable. Our cross-country ski tracks around Obertilliach are ready and groomed and once more we can provide proof of our reliable snow conditions. The routing is the same as in the previous year for the 42nd Dolomitenlauf. Once again, passing through the cross-country skiing stadium in Obertilliach twice provides a special attraction for the spectators and participants”, describes organiser Franz Theurl.

On Saturday (21st January 2017) the Dolomiten Classic-Race (part of the Worldloppet) takes place over the distances of 42 and 20 kilometres. The mass start takes place as on the following day for the traditional Dolomitenlauf (also part of the Worldloppet and the FIS Worldloppet Cup) at 10:00 at the Nordic Centre in Obertilliach. Participants ski through the biathlon and cross-country centre twice. “And the loops have been made slightly easier for the large number of hobby skiers”, says Franz Theurl.

Late entries possible until the start

Registration for the events can be done online on, but also just before the races in the biathlon and cross-country centre Obertilliach from 7:30.
